Anyone out there with practical experience of African Pangolins? Looking for research support from a reputable organisation. We are doing the very best we can and all are prepared for re-release.

Hello there RRR. You'll fine that this community is almost entirely made up of zoo enthusiasts and fanatics more than people with experience of handling wild animals, let alone something as rare as a pangolin. A very, very minuscule amount of members have their own zoo and while there are others who work at zoos, I highly doubt any of them would have any information that could benefit your study. Still, I wish you luck with raising funds for this venture and once more welcome to the site :).

Thank you for this Pachyderm!! As you rightly say terribly endangered and a huge challenge to rehabilitate............we need all of the support we can get.

This is really cool. Let us know if there's anything an inexperienced individual can do to help your organization, in addition to donating :)

    This may help you:

Additional Grant Opportunities – Pangolin Consortium

The Pangolin Consortium itself issues grants (total of about $40,000 USD last year). In 2019 they plan to have their grant cycle open to applicants from March 1 – May 31 with the goal of announcing the awards by August 1.

Thank you for this. We will certainly apply. The worst situation for us is having to turn away any rhino,Pangolin or wild dog due to lack of funds. Anyone with contacts for possible funding please do not hesitate. We are fully transparent and non commercial.

Good luck. I recommend that your grant proposal (like any other) be scientific, specific, and achievable. If general funding is what you seek, you may do better through a crowd-funding campaign (like GoFundMe).

Perhaps in the name of full transparency you could tell us about your organisation?
