I visited a few weeks ago and have to say I was rather impressed. I feel like a look of the criticism was harsh, yes its not perfect and the Jaguar exhibit was rather poor and loris viewing was crap but overall it has a good standard of exhibit and the theming is very good also. The waterpark is a good way to cool down afterwards, the ques are relatively small but there isn't the biggest selection of bigger slides.

Very sad news, male Indian rhino Tarun, who was transferred from Wroclaw to Benidorm last October, passed away on 24 Feb 2019.

    Benidorm: Farewell, Tarun!

I hope some of the forum experts from Spain (or anybody who knows it) can answer the following question:
What kind of Muntjac does TN Benidorm has? The sign on the exhibit by the elephants says Muntiacus muntjak (=Indian Muntjac) while www.zootierliste.de says Muntiacus reevesi (= Reeve's or Chinese Muntjac)...

Many zoos label their Reeve's muntjac as Muntiacus muntjak. Only in the case of Obterre and Chester real Indian muntjac are kept for sure. I have cleared many zoos from zootierliste (especially Spain) who mislabelled their Muntjacs, only for the zoos still listed I could not find proper proof..

Fairly sure the ones at Faunia are good for it too - they look the part and I think they came from the same source as Chester's.
