ZTL says that Terra Natura holds white-tipped doves, perhaps the only ones in Europe. The zoo is one of 3 ZTL zoos with the keeled slug-eating snake, the Mexican black-tailed and Tamualipan rock rattlesnake and the green vine snake and one of 5 with the rococo toad and the sambar.

Any idea if the helmeted curassows came from an European or Americas institution?

Returning species to the park. A group of nine black-tailed prairie dogs has arrived at TerraNatura Benidorm. When I visited their exhibit was empty.

TerraNatura is now home to a pair of Fan-Si-Pan horned pitvipers (Protobothrops cornutus). The animals were decommissioned by local authorities.

    New species:
TerraNatura will be the new home of decommissioned individuals of Jameson's mamba (Dendroaspis jamesoni), Wetar island tree viper (Trimeresurus insularis) and Tri-colored hognose snake (Xenodon pulcher). The animals were decommissioned by Madridean authorities and the MITECO decided to move the animals to a center that specializes in these kinds of animals. The animals are already on-show and can be see in the reptile house of the Pangea area.

    New incorporation:
Male Indian rhinoceros (Rhinoceros unicornis) Jaffna has arrived to TerraNatura Benidorm! The animal arrived from the Basel zoo with the intention of becoming the breeding male of the park's rhino group.
With his arrival, the park is now home to four individuals; Shiwa, Nisha, Duna, and Jaffna.
Jaffna has the track record of nine different calves in different institutions, so we hope to see a precious rhino calf over at TerraNatura soon or later!
