I don't know much about mushrooms, but they are a critical piece of biodiversity. Gary Lincoff was a mushroom expert in New York City who took people on mushroom field trips around the world. He specialized in the mushrooms of Central Park, where he once found hallucinogenic mushrooms growing. He died at age 75 and his obituary makes for a very interesting and fun read.
