Of late in the moderator forums, there has been discussion on and off regarding the feasibility of a dedicated sub-forum for the longform trip reports which are sometimes posted on the forum by individuals such as Chlidonias, Hix and myself.

On the one hand, this would allow people wanting information on visiting a specific country or collection to readily find the previous experiences of other individuals; however, as some threads are currently the only ones present within their subforums (such as travel threads regarding New Caledonia and Samoa) this would leave some areas of the forum quite sparsely populated.

As such, this thread has been proposed by Chlidonias and zooboy28; as they accurately note, I seldom seem to sleep and therefore should have the task of dealing with creating the thread :p it will follow the general outline proposed by Chli in the following post:

I will do a post for each sub-section of the directory, then edit them as appropriate as I add listings to the directory itself.

This sounds like an excellent and much-needed thread. Looking forward to its completion.

Would it help if thread creators posted their threads for you to add? Or have you got a system worked out which other people trying to help would just confuse?
I've got about half a dozen of my own travel threads that I can link you to if it would help.

I'm working through the forums in a vaguely-logical manner; those threads linked to so far are ones relevant to specific areas but which were posted in "General Zoo Discussion", and I am now adding links to threads posted within the various Oceania subforums :) so I will ask for any further links once I have finished to the best of my ability, in case I missed any.

I'm working on it - slowly, day by day when I have some free time and I'm awake - and I should be able to start uploading again by next weekend.

I want to get it all done before I go away again, which will hopefully be before the end of the year.

    :p
