Most Chinese Zoo food is bad like that, and expensive. The best choice is to buy some bread in the supermarket before you enter a Chinese zoo.

Pittsburgh zoo actually has some of the best French fries I’ve ever eaten. It is in the restaurant on the other side of the Jambo Grill. The rest of the food isn’t great. You can get these fries with cheese, bacon, and I believe there are other toppings as well.

The only good thing at the Bronx is the ice cream. Usually, I just get something in Penn before heading there

Another vote for fried cheese being wonderful from me! It was absolutely delicious and I loved it! My only regret is not having eaten more of it while I was in Czech Republic!

That doesn't sound like someone who's trying to get in to shape! :p;)

I came back from Czech Republic having gained two pounds in weight, despite the fact that I walked more in nine days than I usually walk in nine weeks! I ate absolutely nothing but junk food and fast food the entire time I was there, but it was a holiday after all, so going all out and enjoying yourself is a key part of that. Luckily enough I’m back down to my pre-trip weight again already and so now the diet resumes . . . so far I’ve lost thirteen pounds in total, only another two stones to go until I reach a reasonable weight once more. Slow progress!

That's what they all say ;), It's a holiday so the calories don't count, except the part where they do :p. I can't argue that fried cheese sounds excellent though!

I just figure that you spend so much time, effort and money on making a holiday actually happen that for the time you’re away, you should be able to forget about all the usual day to day obligations, responsibilities and restrictions that you normally have back at home and just relax! The fried cheese was definitely worth it, although I only had it once, at Prague Zoo. I wish they did it in the UK!

I don’t cook at all - I am absolutely terrible at it! I am a complete liability in the kitchen, so I steer well away from it! I’ll use the microwave to heat things up, but anything more than that is a real challenge! Trying to fry something would only end in tears, or illness, or fire - or possibly all three at once! Anyway, food made by somebody else always tastes that much better!

Ah, so that is the excuse you give your other half when demanding he always cook for you :p

You’ve got it in one! He used to be a chef, so he is way more culinarily talented than I will ever be!

Well, to me, they are actually equal, because I love cooking and baking.

In Barcelona Zoo I only bought a packet of crisps and a small glass of tap beer, (Estrella?) I don't recall the cost but i paid in coins suggesting it was less than €5. And I got to keep the plastic "glass" as a souvenir.

I have my plastic up too and a memory of the least appetising burger of my trips last year (apart from one in an English zoo)

Had really good Halibut in Wroclaw Zoo, hundreds of miles from the sea.

Cincinnati Zoo’s food is good, well, at least to me, I don’t know about everyone else.
