    (Nesoenas duboisi)

Extinct; this species was formerly endemic to Reunion. Known only from a single sub-fossil humerus and a physical description dating to 1674; predation by introduced rats is presumed to have caused the species' extinction by the end of the 17th century.

Monotypic; no photographs of this species are present in the Zoochat gallery.

    Rodrigues Turtle-dove (Nesoenas rodericanus)

Extinct; this species was formerly endemic to Rodrigues. Known from scant sub-fossil remains and a handful of physical descriptions from the early 18th century; habitat loss, hunting and predation by introduced species is presumed to have caused the species extinction shortly after the last reported sighting in 1726.

Monotypic; no photographs of this species are present in the Zoochat gallery.

The range of this species extends throughout Madagascar, the Comoro Islands and Aldabra, along with various adjacent islands and atolls; the species formerly also extended naturally into the Seychelles and Amirante Islands, where it has been reintroduced. Introduced into the Mascarenes.

I should have a decent picture of Streptopelia turtur arenicola and a mediocre one of Spilopelia senegalensis phoenicophila (because although common, they are definitely the shiest Columbidae we get) that I will upload to the gallery.

I'm not sure that the Laughing dove picture will be good enough for upload but it is worth trying I guess. :D

EDIT: Uploaded to the Morocco - Wildlife gallery.

I have to disagree. It is the same as griseogularis that I have seen. There is a slight amount of sexual dimorphism, with the males being slightly whiter than females. This photo was also taken at the Avilon zoo in the Philippines. The only subspecies which occurs here is griseogularis. Also important to note Avilon Zoo exported the individuals to Plzen Zoo...

I am aware of this, but I would be seriously remiss in my duties were I to automatically assume that any species/subspecies in a given collection HAS to be the one native to the country/region the collection is located within :p for instance, to cite an example from my recent Corvid thread, the subspecies of Nutcracker held at Zoo Plzen is the Siberian race macrorhynchos and not the nominate race, even though the latter is the one found wild in the Czech Republic.

This, conversely, does clinch the matter :p I'll make the relevant edits now.
