    The range of this species extends throughout the Himalayas from north-central India and adjacent Nepal into northern Indochina, and southern and central China.

    Monotypic.

    Greater White-toothed Shrew
    (Crocidura russula)

    The range of this species extends throughout much of western Europe and northwest Africa, from the northern Netherlands and adjacent northwest Germany in the north, through Belgium, France and the Iberian Peninsula into northern Morocco and Algeria in the south.

    Two subspecies are recognised:

    American Shrew Mole
    (Neurotrichus gibbsii)

    The range of this species extends throughout a narrow coastal strip of western North America, from southwest British Columbia in the north to west-central California in the south.

    Three subspecies are recognised:

    N. g. gibbsii
    N. g. hyacinthinus
    N. h. minor

    The range of this species extends throughout much of southeast Canada and adjacent regions of northeast and eastern USA, as far south as southeast Georgia.

    Two subspecies are recognised:

    C. c. cristata
