things that make you happy in life

this thread is mostly inspired by things that irritate you in life, which is fun but sometimes its good to be positive (sorry if i sound like your grade 2 English teacher). for me anything and everything that has to do with animals makes me happy, hearing the bell for the end of school and correcting my science teacher (as we are in our biodiversity unit).

 

Catching something thrown at you from a distance with one hand and looking casual asf about it.

Being called on for an answer (when you’re not paying attention) and coming out with something completely legit.

Good thread to have in these trying times! Important to also look for the positive things right now.

Some things I enjoyed lately:

• Visiting my local zoo, Planckendael, again.
• Seeing two wild common buzzards (or potentially the same individual twice, a few hours apart).
• Seeing a wild red squirrel and a wild Eurasian nuthatch while at Planckendael.
• Seeing wild birds in the garden.
• Watching pictures in the gallery here at ZooChat.
• Doing research on animal species, ecoregions, geographical regions or habitats, for personal interest reason or for fantasy zoo projects.
• Reading.
• Listening to podcasts (not animal-related though) or music.
• Watching wildlife live cams.
• Doing my best to distance and distract myself as much as possible from the stuff that makes me anxious, frustrated and stressed.
