I ended up actually going to my local zoo, Planckendael, today after all and despite the circumstances. I managed fairly well and was able to have a relatively short but enjoyable cold and sunny visit.
Having a long weekend. Seeing a roe deer buck and a common buzzard in the meadows/fields from the train when heading to or from Zoo Antwerpen. An enjoyable visit to Zoo Antwerpen. My first really busy zoo visit in a long time going down relatively well, I am finally seeing some improvement in dealing with busy public places.
Non zoo related stuff I enjoy Warm days with a breeze Thrift shopping Riding my bike Warm showers after a long day Dreamy music Feeling accomplished Afternoon naps Talking to your friends Gardens and ponds Being in a play or musical Good food Pretty houses Writing stupid stories Summer evenings Out-of school adventures Horseback riding Jetskis Old farms Pretty movies that are cool to look at Being alone in nature Creeks and waterfalls VHS players Feeling appreciated Feeling good about yourself Summer rain and being in it The weeks in spring where the weather finally gets warm and you know winter's gone Flowers Vacations and traveling Relief from your stresses Being barefoot on the grass And, obviously, friends and family
I have a few. . Visiting Zoos and Aquariums (should be pretty obvious) . Birding . Learning about history and geography . A rainy or cloudy autumn afternoon . Traveling (accept for being on an airplane) . Clouds during a sunset . Being in nature . Playing Warhammer with my Father . Spending time with friends and family
My son told me he’d been on YouTube all morning and I asked him if he’d seen any decent videos. He asked me if I’d heard of this guy called Steve Irwin and then proceeded to tell me all about how he caught crocodiles etc.
Seeing a bat flying around above our backyard last night. Not sure of the species, probably one of the common ones, but rather cool to see nonetheless.
Even through my recent emotional and mental struggles, I still find scrolling through the Zoochat forums makes me happy, and playing video games (personally it’s been Monster Hunter World, Madden, Jurassic World Evolution 2 and R6 Siege lately) planning out a spec zoo (no species list yet) and being a part of my schools basketball team have all been mood boosters for me. Family and pets are an obvious boost as well.
Super Cool Kevin. We are lucky to have bats in our garden trees at night. Species irrelevant, enjoyment maximum.
I’ve been labelled as a power forward/centre as one of the taller guys on the team. I’m better at scoring in the paint so the position suits me.
Every day things: - Talking to family and friends. - Cycle rides. - Looking after pets. - Learning foreign languages (or at least trying to!). - Playing table tennis. - Reading. More occasional things: - Spending time in Central London. - Travelling. - Visiting museums. - Visiting zoos. - Seeing new species (both captive and wild).

Eating a good Julbord (swedish cristmas buffet). I was so happy that the resturant got my one of my favourite, but sadly dyeing swedish christmas food,Pigs feet.
Closer to the holidays I’m adding that the Christmas season is something else that makes me happy. And the basketball season has been kinda rough with my team starting 0-3… got three games in a row coming up so maybe we can turn it around.
Trying to come up with workable solutions for the issues I have been struggling with lately. I think it's good that I want to try and improve things rather than just give up.
