When I was a kid I was a real zoo enthousiastic. I used to draw entire fantasy zoos, realistic or not . I had some extremely unrealistic zoos with 3 giraffe species and a blue whale . I always thought I was the only one doing that. And now I discovered this forum... It was always my dream to start an own zoo. Nowadays, I still love zoos and the zoo dream hasn't disappeared completely. I'm starting my studies of biology at university in September so who knows...
I couldn't agree with the title more. Welcome. By the way, I had a fantasy zoo species list so huge, that it probably would have been the size of the average European country, had it been built (it had several baleen whale species, among other things.)
I made an entire zoo when I was young with a total of 5,671 species (took me a few months WITH the internet) just pulled randomly from Wikipedia.
When I was kid, I would spend hours looking at pages for animals on Wikipedia. One day my parents showed me how to open a link in a new tab. They regretted it when I had 150 tabs of animal Wikipedia articles open!
Welcome to our cult. Also although I never made some super massive zoo on my own, I would always pretend re-do my local zoos (for example, I probably re-did the Sacramento Zoo at least 20 times (and I still do it to this day)).
Thanks guys. I always glued like 10 sheets of paper to each other, covered the whole floor with it and drew a zoo . I still have the drawings.
