Just came to mind, but what will happen to the Zoologischer Garten's elephants after the Elefanthaus in the Tierpark is done? Will Berlin keep asians in the Zoo and africans in the Tierpark? Or will the asians be transferred in the Tierpark and the elephant house in the Zoo be transformed into something else?

I don't see a major reason why the Asians of the Zoo would need to move to the Tierpark for this - I think both institutions will be fine with one species each...

Thought the same but it just came to mind that there's also asians in the zoo and that honestly their enclosure could use a glowup...

The goal was to keep asian elephants in the Zoo in a brand new exhibit which will take place in the extension (the whole) where there is actually the south american pampa...
Their exhibit will be refurbished for great apes (gorillas to my memory).
Of course, the Tierpark will just keep african.

This would refer to the area that is 'dis-connected' from the zoo proper, with South America / Australia/Africa fauna?
Would be nice to see some life breathed into that bit.

None of my one. But I can show you some pictures by W. Dreier:

Basically, they modelled the water zone, put some foil in and filled up water to push the foil down. At the same time, they removed all the weed that had grown over the many months of vacancy. I'm not sure, what the metal element on the last picture is going to be used for. Could be a frame for a window, but it will not provide any under water view (unless they create a tank on top of the old pond, which I don't think will happen). It could start right on top of the water surface level, though. This would be similar to the window at the polar bear enclosure.

Berlin Tierpark will get African Elephants to fit in the new Africa Zone. There will also be smaller African animals in and around the house, though: honey badgers, hyrax, (common) gundis, weaver birds and some reptiles like snakes and tortoises. Perhaps the elephant shrew(s) will also be presented in there.

Berlin Zoo most certainly won't give up on their Asian Elephants (they even have their iconic Elephant Gate after all). As mentioned, there used to be plans to build a new complex for them in the extension area behind the water channel. But I haven't heard any updates on this for years. In a German forum I just heard they may still use the old complex and just extend the outside enclosures. Money has become more of an issue than it used to be, even though they would try to get public funds (for European tourism).

A nice addition, I am surprised at how rare this species is in Germany though. Over here they seem more plentiful.

ZTL lists only 4 [Tierpark included] German holders.

Where has the echidna moved to following works on the elephant house?

There will be a dinosaur exhibition in the Tierpark from spring 2023-October 2023. It’s the same one that was in Leipzig previously I believe.

They will show some of the dinosaurs from Leipzig, but there will also be some new ones from the US.

According to ZTL Tierpark received a pair of South-east Asian golden cats (Catopuma temminckii temminckii) from Taman Safari in October. The source on ZTl is an email that was send to ZTL at the start of this month.
However I have not been able to find any information regarding the arrival of this beautifull species at Tierpark Berlin.
Does anyone know whether this is true and if so are they already visible to the public?

Haven't heard anything before now. This kind of comes as a surprise (I knew they have good contacts to Indonesia of course). So, very thrilled to hear about this!

So am I, but I am always a bit sceptical if I can only find this information on ZTL.
I guess we just wait and see, hopefully it is true!
Not only would this be a great addition for Tierpark Berlin but hopefully it can also give the European captive population a bit of a brigther future.

It's not realistic now. The Asian will stay in their current enclosure for years...
