In October, two European bison from Tierpark Suhl were moved to the Studen Kladenets Reserve in Bulgaria where they will be released to join the four other bison that were reintroduced in October 2013 as part of a rewilding project. Any idea on individual sex of the relocated immigrants? BTW: 5 European bison were brought from Germany in 2013. It seems the current population might just be 1 breeding pair and their offspring (total: 4 + 2 new immigrants now). It is planned to add more bison sooner rather than later to make for a more robust European bison herd in the project area.
