While I haven't actually visited the Museum in question, I might get around to it over the summer. I found a very useful tool on their website by chance allowing people to navigate the exact species on show currently. I have only noted down the mammal and bird species below here, but if anyone is interested, a plethora of fish and invert species can be found across the many galleries of the museum.

I only noted the species below down because some of the species I suspect would be very interesting to certain members and I believe a number of them are not present in the gallery as of yet. I will be noting the species of note in bold. Particularly interesting are the large number of Japanese endemics. I've put the more widespread, exotic species under a spoiler so as to not make the post excessively long.

Just for clarification, these are all museum specimens and not live animals right?

Oh sorry, yes, taxidermies, no skeletons, no live specimens as far as I know of. Would be absolutely fantastic were they to be live but alas, the thylacine and Japanese wolf seem a bit far-fetched :p.

My bad for not clarifying :).

I was told that their thylacine is not an actual thylacine
