Finally had a chance to head to the zoo after some hiatus due to work and the holidays. Here’s what I noticed. The renovations of the indoor Rhino exhibit are really nice. I have exhibit shots I’ll post later. Someone had mention whether the Rhinos have access to the, and I can say that there is a ramp that allows them to enter the water if they choose. Still noticed one Pygmy Hippo on exhibit at a time, and today only one Pygmy Hippo was out, as the Red River Hog was back in its indoor exhibit. In the America Pavilion, all the windows around the insect area had an ‘X’ taped over them. This leads me to believe they might be conducting some renovations in that area soon.
I look forward to seeing the rhino reno. I want two pygmy hippos and two red river hogs on exhibit at the same time because that means offspring are a serious consideration then. The clock is starting to wind down if we are to see a pygmy hippo calf in 2017. And its disappointing that Tisa and Philip still don't like each other.
