When private Zoo St-Edouard in Quebec was closed in May by the SPCA, reportedly 60 to 100 animals were sent to other facilities for care, Then AZA and CAZA zoos were asked for help to lodge them. About a month ago Toronto took 0.2 tigers for holding, but I have never heard the exact species. Most likely Amurs, but who knows their lineage or purity. I looked at some of the news stories from May but they are just referred to as "tigers". TZ is holding them waiting for transfer to a U.S. zoo. I wonder about the 1.2 Barbary Sheep that arrived from "Quebec" and 2.5 Mouflon from "Quebec" around the same time. Maybe also confiscated. You would think the zoo would publicize this.
Today I learned the Mouflon and Barbary Sheep did come from St-Edouard and posted in Births, Death, Transfers.
