    It’s illegal to take a dolphin regardless of whether it is alive, dying or dead.

    Yes, but all the foreign news items will be derived from the same source, so the question is really "is the original source correct?"

    The Daily Mail isn't the original source though.

    I think it probably is illegal to take any dolphin, alive or dead, under China's Wildlife Protection Law - but my point is just that a multitude of sources all saying the same thing doesn't equate to it being true, because they are all simply repeating the same thing.

    I meant that all sources agreed on that, the Daily Mail were the only source to claim it was dead and covered in wounds, all other sources merely saying it was dying. :)
