Hi Everyone, Just looking into tree kangaroo species in captivity and so far I understand there are two common species in zoos; Goodfellows and Matschies. Lumholtz Tree Kangaroos are also present in a couple of sanctuaries in Queensland, Australia. Yet there are at least 14 known species of Tree Kangaroo. Is there more species in captivity that I haven't listed and if not, is there any particular reason?
There are still several grizzled tree kangaroos in Indonesian zoos. There are also captive grizzled, Doria's, golden-mantled tree kangaroos and tenkile (at least) on New Guinea.
Tenkile tree-kangaroos in captivity ? I ( think I ) know the Australian scientist who discribed the species had 1 but have after hardly anything heared about the species, so would be realy intresting !
