Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge is a sanctuary in Eureka Springs, Arkansas that rescues big cats and other felines. In July, the facility rescued three tigers and a lioness, named Lady. These cats were once kept at Safari Joe's in OK and were abandoned when the roadside closed. One Resilient Lady: After years alone, lioness welcomed to Turpentine Creek – The Free Weekly
Yeah, I'm not too sure, I just got that info from the article. But I think the current Safari Joe's (waterpark with animals) is a different place than the one that closed. The water park was formerly Big Splash and was bought by "Safari" Joe Estes, who rebranded the new park with his old ones name.
It was my understanding that there was the waterpark, which primarily has herps and then some lemurs and stuff, and a "refuge", owned by the same guy, that had big cats and other large species. It doesn't help that it's such a generic name, and there's more than one notorious guy named Joe in Oklahoma!
