Cotswold Falconry Centre now closed until further notice wonder how many collections will be open in 2 weeks time?
Helmsley have closed. They've also set up a crowdfunding page to help cover the costs of the next few uncertain months
The National Trust are closing all their parks and gardens from midnight tonight (their landscape and coastal areas will remain open). This decision might impact on the open-space zoos which have so far remained open
Cedars Nature Centre closed. Many of the botanic gardens I mentioned in an earlier post have now closed, to avoid expected Mother's Day crowds. The high numbers of people that have been visiting recently are making social distancing rules difficult, if not impossible, to follow.
This frustrates me. What has changed in between announcing that London would close but Whipsnade would stay open and now?
I agree with you and with Whipsnade closing, I fear today may be the last day for zoo visits for several months! Whipsnade should be the last place to shut and they could have closed catering facilities completely if necessary!
I get the impression that Mothering Sunday is gearing up to be extremely busy. RHS gardens have been bursting the past week, and today could only be busier. Whipsnade is in a way not too dissimilar to botanic gardens size-wise, which is where I'm guessing they're taking their lead from. A lot ot of people I've noticed seem to be just carrying on like normal, even the local river was very busy yesterday. I've also seen the pictures of Whitby, it was heaving.
