I was horrified to open this week's "Cage & Aviary Birds" and read that Wingz has financial problems and could be put up for sale. I made my first visit in September and immediately fell in love with the place. I hope the place survives and continues in its present ownership as I'm sure it would be heartbreaking for the Allen family to have to sell and see the end of a dream come true. Fingers crossed Wingz will be there for me to visit next year and I'd urge any ZooChat member living in the area or visiting the West Country to beat a path to this excellent collection. With news of the closure of Leeds Castle Aviary and the downscaling of Harewood Bird Garden we don't want any more bad news from our (primarily in the case of Wingz) bird collections.

Fingers crossed for good weather and lots of visitors who can spread the word.

I've never visited as it's way off my beaten path here in Derbyshire but I do follow them on fb, and wish them well for the future.
