I received an email from Phoenix Zoo that membership expiration dates will be extended for the length of the closure. (In other words if your membership expires in June and the zoo ends up being closed two months your membership will not expire until August). I wonder if other closed zoos will institute similar policies?
From what I have seen, most AZA facilities are extending memberships. A good way to keep people remembering them and makes it more likely for people to visit once able to I think.
All of the ones I get e-mails from have. Elmwood Park is also doing a deal right now where you can renew or get a new membership, with different % of codes - 55% off is the biggest, then in intervals up to 0%, basically if you want to really support the zoo. These all would have gotten a visit from me if I was closer; I'd drive several hours for the badger, lynx, geoffroy's cat, and springhaas!
Wynnewood is still open, despite the state requiring all non-essential businesses to locse. Lowe is claiming keeping the zoo open to the public is an essential business because they're a licensed rendering facility. That license expired years ago.
For a change I'll go ahead and list the facilities that are still open to my knowledge. This list is far less complete for a few reasons, although the biggest is that it's simply so difficult to track down small facilities and I have to decide if they're even worth including on the list. I'm trying to be comprehensive but I also have to consider "would most Zoochatters even consider this a zoological collection." So due to a combination of these factors I'll naturally miss a few facilities. If you know of a facility that's still open post it on the thread. Beginning today (March 26) and through at least mid April, Out Of Africa is changing their experience. The main walking path, which is a large circular dirt road, will be open as a self-drive instead. (Presumably the tram tours on their bus that go inside the safari habitat were stopped previously).

Idk if this has been mentioned here but Santa Fe college teaching zoo has been closed since march 16. I don’t remember until when.
Under the title of the thread, there's the # of pages that are in it. It can be helpful to look through a thread, or go to the last page, to see if something had already been mentioned In this case, there's only a couple of zoos in the USA that aren't closed now, with nearly 350 closed.
