I for one, am furious that Trump and his administration has ordered this to happen  and I would think that many people on here would too. We've been through this once where there was no EPA, and we have the photographs to prove the hell that went on to our environment. He and his republican cabinet(cronies) are trying to downplay the cost of climate change, at a time when the whole world has no time to waste before we reach the point of no return. We're already at 1.5 degrees above pr-industrial levels. We don't have time for deniers, we don't have time to gut climate funding, we need to really think about the future now more than ever!!

I don't know if this will help anyone who feels like there is nothing that can be done now that he has signed executive orders, but here it is: Scientists all over the country along with anyone who just loves science are taking note of the success of the women's march in DC, and are planning their own march in the capital. I won't be there myself unfortunately because I don't want to have to drive to DC, and find a parking space I know doesn't exists, and have my car set on fire because that is coming the new normality in that part of the country. But that doesn't mean that anyone who loves science, and wants to say that the US should stay in the Paris Agreement, teach evolution in our schools, and keep the EPA in the hands of people who want to care for our natural resources, not deplete them. So I'd just thought I'd let people know about this in case anyone's interested.

Now, here are some articles about the event:

First women, now scientists to march on Washington

Scientists Plan Washington March in Response to Trump

While I was never naive enough to expect the President to do anything about climate change, I have to say I am shocked and appalled by how far his administration seems to be going to not only pretend climate change does not exist, but seemingly prevent discussion about it and outright suppress its very existence.

Well, not if we have anything to say about it. And we won't let Trump worsen that number.

The thread seems to have morphed into a place for complains about trump's environmental policy, also the Doomsday Clock also now moves in response to threats such as global warming, so I didn't think it was too out of place.

Granted there is a strong argument for moving this thread to the Zoo Cafe in my opinion, but I don't think it would be completely inappropriate to keep it here.

It certainly does talk about climate change.I am not saying it is inappropriate for this forum.I'm saying that i don't think this thread is pointly focused on Trump as it was never posted as to be a thread about Trump.
