This July I am visiting my grandfather in San Francisco and one of the places on my List is the Oakland Zoo. My grandfather knows how long some of the other activities I have planned will take, but is unsure about this one and most of the other zoos and aquariums.

I have read that this is a smaller zoo, perhaps comparable in size to my local Blank Park Zoo. If this is so, I expect it will take about four hours to go through with maybe an extra half hour for any particularly interesting exhibits or dining. Is my reasoning correct? Is the food there edible?

My main interest would be in fish and herps, few of which I see on the map available on the website. If anybody has particular exhibits they recommend I spend some time on in lieu of hours of aquarium and terrarium drooling, that would be appreciated.
