Solenodons and platypus are understandable. Shrews have been kept and are easier to source, you don’t like them?

I have already explained in an older post why I do not plan to keep shrews. Unless you have pockets deep enough to pay for a larger venue and additional staff to convince me otherwise, I'll stick to that.

Just curious to learn why not, as you probably have good reasons. Is the said post on your your Zoo creation thread?

It makes little sense to me to keep short-lived, work-intensive mammals that most visitors are not interested in at an already full venue. Which is closed for an unspecified time due to an apparently never-ending COVID-19 lockdown. With the latter negatively impacting the long-anticipated arrival of the custom-made new spitting cobra tank. Etc. etc.

In accordance with the latest COVID-19 Lockdown regulations, WdG is still going to be closed till February. I might as well wait for Godot to show up...

Speaking with some experience, a large screen TV running a loop about venomous mammals would be enough to educate and many people will go away thinking they have seen the animals anyway.

Since you're speaking with some experience, how to get said videos without having to pay a hefty sub to the company that has the copyrights to said loop? There are no free representative videos of the relevant animals. Trust me, I've done my research.
Secondly, TVs are a major distraction, especially for children - the last thing I need during a tour. Children these days already spend enough time passively in front of screens; they should rather focus on the live creatures in front of them.
And thirdly: where to install a large TV in an already rather cramped venue? ;)

Of course I am not referring to your specific conditions of which I have no personal knowledge, just pointing out there are options that do not involve displaying animals. Even a poster would help cover the ground.

According to recent rumors, the Austrian Lockdown for zoos and museums might be extended till March.

Good news on a bad day: the Austrian government has decided to lift the Lockdown closure for Austrian museums and zoos for now. We're allowed to open again on the 8th of February (for now).

Starting today, I'm participating in the "Foundations in Snake Training" online course offered by the American company Reptelligence. According to the teachers, I'm the first and only venomous snake keeper so far to participate. Let's see whether that's a good or a bad thing... ;)
I'm planning to post videos and pictures of the training on the WdG social media accounts, in case you want to watch.
