Also Barasingha/Swamp Deer. There was a single female Sambar too but it might have died by now.

It also lists Hoo Farm as still having Addax and they haven't been there for over a year

According to my source, the Sambar went to a private collection.

Irony is, the aforementioned individual who keeps editing ZTL to delete species from various UK collections if they are not mentioned on the websites for these collections is also one of the Zoochatters who tends to be most vocal about ZTL being incorrect for collections they have visited :p

Had a visit today, quieter than normal from previous visits
-Male lions from Woburn are still separate but kept with a couple of females
-Grevys' Zebra are separate and being kept on hard-standing (partially off-show but can be seen from hippo platform) Does anyone know if the two males have been transferred to Fife?
-As mentioned by others Addax have moved behind the sheep walk-through and the Ostrich have now moved into a paddock towards to the exit of the Safari Park by the rhino house. This leaves the first section of that reserve quite empty as the Banteng, Camel and Deer don't tend to use that part of the reserve but trees have been surrounded by some barriers so hopefully home to a new species soon
-In the reptile house, the Utila Spiny Iguana and Boa Constrictor have swapped exhibit. The exhibit adjacent to the Nile Crocodile has been under refurbishment for over a year now.
-The old kids area by the African Village is now being transformed into a themed ride area based off the kids show 'Boj' and being called a 'Giggly Park'
-A new education area called 'Safari Academy' is being built behind the Rhino house, by the looks of it there will be an improved viewing area for the second hippo pool
-The café by the reptile house has been refurbished and renamed 'Dino Diner'

I applaud the plans for a new elephant facility. Long overdue, but happy they finally seem to manage getting it organised.

Bit of a bummer that 2 locals have complained about its size and trees and that ...!

BTW: I myself never noticed any folks living near the elephant property at the safari park. Anyone else have any idea where it is sited and how it would infringe upon people living near the site?

The problem is that part of West Mids site is SSSI and they are building close to it!

Thanks that makes it that much clearer. So, it is more to leave the trees alone and what constraints the ecological value of the SSSI brings to NH than anything else.

    From facebook:

Introducing our new Grevy’s zebra, Quigley! [IMG]☺️
The six-year-old stallion recently joined our two females, Akuna & Montana, and has settled in very well!

We said farewell to our two other males, Jez & Marty, who have now been moved onto Fife Zoo [IMG]

So that's why they were in the pens. I knew it was due to introductions but didn't know they had a male. If they do go on to breed, will it be a first Grevy's born at WMSP?

To answer my own question, according to the 2015 studbook no they have never bred before at WMSP. Also looking at the studbook, Quigley came from Chessington but was born at Marwell.
