I'm not sure if this has been done before, but I thought it would be interesting given that there are loads of interesting user-names on the forum.

I was actually inspired to do it by CGSwan's user-name because every time I see it I immediately think "Computer Generated swans"....

As for my own, Chlidonias is a genus of terns, and the day before I joined up I'd just seen a whiskered tern (Chlidonias hybrida) at a wetland area near my house, a species that isn't normally found in NZ, so the name was still running around in my head. None of the people at work can pronounce it so they tend to refer to it as "chinchilla doughnut" :D

Mine is just my first name, really, although not many may figure it out straight away as it is not George or John or another common name.

Baldur is a not a very common, yet very traditional name in Icelandic. It was the name of a god in the old Nordic mythology. Some may also be familiar with a computer game called Baldur's Gate and may even have thought that I got my username from there, but trust me, I have a life, hence I don't play computer games.

Mine is "M" for my first name, then "stickman" for my nickname, and "P" for my last name. When I joined I was thinking of getting an animal username, but couldn't think of one so I went with my usual username.

Easy stuff... In my case, it's my ham radio callsign. KC7GR is, admittedly, a vanity call. I got it when I upgraded back in 2002. During my California tenure, I was WD6EOS.

As for Baldur -- From the moment I saw it, I wondered if it was a reference to one of the cetacean characters in Gordon Dickson's "The Space Swimmers." ;-)

    Happy travels.

I just used my e-bay username....

When I joined e-bay there was already a zooboy so I just added 'new'.

Turns out there is also a zooboy on Zoochat (I know who this is) so it worked just as well here.

I guess zooboy or zooman is an obvious one for such a website as this.

'Marwell Dalek' was my original username; because I go to Marwell a lot and I love Doctor Who. But after some time I decided I didn't really like it and changed it to this one, which is one of my favourite Marwell animals who now lives at Blackpool, and in my avatar. ;)

Mine is my nickname (Haz) followed by a nickname my dad gave me when I was younger (cause I loved big Cats). Therefore, the two joined together make haz_cat :) !

A lot of users seem to have misunderstood your user name or at least had their own ideas of its meaning ... and I'm no exception! You see, Marie, just take out the 'h' from your username and it becomes 'male'. So until fairly recently I thought you were a man! :D

dragon= I love the creatures that are dragons and have been taught from a young age how important they were to china.
ele= short for elephant. Favourite animal followed by Rhino, Panda, Tiger, thoroughbred bred horse Lion
nerd= always found myself to be refered to as this but now a lot less as the term nerd has now changed
