This post you can say is a spin-off to my “What is your favorite otter exhibit” thread but instead of otters like my last two threads,we now focus on snow leopards and their enclosures provided by the various international zoos that display them.Let me know on what is your favorite habitat.
From the ones I've seen, the Philadelphia Zoo's is the best, but I'm going to the Bronx Zoo for the first time soon and that one looks a bit nicer. If you aren't familiar with the one in Philly this is a picture: Big Cat Falls - Snow Leopard Exhibit by Fignewton posted 3 Oct 2020 at 4:54 PM
I think the one that stands out for me personally would be the enclosure for this species at Le Parc Des Felins in France. In fact I would say that all of the enclosures for both small and large felines at that particular zoo are excellent and very very hard to beat.
Omaha’s is the best I’ve seen of the zoos of been to. The snow leopards have been pretty active most times I’ve been there jumping up and down the fake cliffs. Also they love their high perch to get views of the takin and goral exhibit next door.
Interesting that Omaha is for so many US contributors the best in the country, even though it pales in size (and sometimes looks) if you compare it to many European enclosures. Nordens Ark, Kolmarden, Zurich, Helsinki, Karlsruhe, HWP, Doue and others all are at least 2 as large as Omaha and provide at least as much structure and often way more...
