I disagree, Ben Mendelsohn as Talos had some of the best lines, but mainly because he was a Skrull saying everything (in full make up) with a thick Australian accent. He was perfectly off-putting and campy, definitely up there with the best MCU cosmic characters in my opinion. :)

Interesting you put it first, I loved it and it’s definitely in my top 5 Marvel movies, but is it really the best Marvel Movie? In my opinion it isn’t, but I can see how some would think that way.

I genuinely think watching Endgame was the greatest cinematic experience of my life. It was 22 films and 11 years worth of build up paid off in the most perfect way. There was fan service for the film fans, fan service for the comic readers, and even fan service for the casual viewer who has seen the occasional MCU movie. The comedy was on point, the drama was heartbreaking, it is a masterpiece in film making and story telling. So that's why it's number one in my opinion.

It's also one of only three superhero films to crack my (open to change) top 10 movies, which also currently (and usually) includes Pulp Fiction, Trainspotting, In Bruges, Ragnarok, Infinity War, and Goodfellas. Last 3 spaces are open to several other contenders... But that's probably worth a new thread of its own. ;)

Now that is one hell of a rambling post, thanks for getting to the end! :p

That's an understatement! I'm pretty sure this was the first time in my life I've actually jumped up in my seat watching a movie-- which I did simultaneously with my friend-- and did a few times. At a couple points in the third act my hands were literally shaking and by the end I was sitting up at the edge of my recliner seat. Definitely the best movie experience I've ever had.

I'm sure I mentioned this but apparently Brit's don't do that, YouTube has lied to me. At one point I screamed "YESSSSS!" unfortunately no-one else did, leaving me feeling a tad like a twat... :D

And I watched this film sober as well!

In my theater people kept clapping every time something major happened, or even when certain characters just showed up. I'm not really a big fan of verbal excitement when I'm watching something for the first time, but here I understand a bit more for a couple of scenes.

Aren't you glad I convinced you to watch it earlier than you planned? ;)

I can agree that the fan service is good, the pay off is satisfying and it’s a great finale to a decade of amazing movies, buuutthat doesn’t mean there aren’t still problems with the movie. I’ll try not to delve into any spoilers, but I thought that the middle was pretty confusing and opens up loads of plot holes, Thanos wasn’t nearly as good as he was in Infinity War, and changes to some of the heroes personalities were questionable to say the least. It’s still a great movie, but not on the level of the Winter Soldier or Infinity War imo.

The top 10 movies mention is an interesting one, and I’d say that would definitely make for an interesting thread. I currently have super hero movies in my top 10 (Dark Knight, Spider-Man:Into the Spiderverse, Infinity War, Winter Soldier), although my top 10 is definitely odder than most ( the rest of my top 10 is Anchorman, Happy Gilmore, The Mummy, The Mummy Returns, The Incredibles and the first Indiana Jones.).

I do believe that is also an extra superhero movie in your top ten... :p

Oh yeah:p. I usually think of the Incredibles as an animation movie first and a superhero movie second, although Into the Spiderverse falls int that same category so maybe it's just my dumb brain:D.

Thinking back to last year and Infinity War, when Cap showed up people cheered, and it really got loud during the "Bring me Thanos!" scene. But Endgame was much more subdued even though the cinema was packed solid this time...

Very glad, I'm going again next week and can't bloody wait! :D

I'd definitely be interested in discussing this at some point, as I do think there are a lot less plot holes present than a lot of the criticisms I've heard say there are. Obviously it's hard to discuss when trying to avoid spoilers but the way they explained how the second act works cleans up most problems for me.

And yeah, Thanos was not the villain he was in Infinity War but I see that as partly being because IW focused mainly on him whereas this movie focused more on the original Avengers and Nebula.

Are we going to have an official date for when we can discuss spoilers in thread? :p I've got so many private conversations going on discussing it that I keep forgetting what I've mentioned to different people! :p ;)

Just use the Spoiler thingamebob and then you can write whatever you like.

For example, my rating on 0.5 out of 10 for the movie:

    I haven't seen it
