Thats a fascinating collectiin. Are some animals used to feed others? Like eggs from the chickens or mice and rats for the meat eaters?

My collection currently consists of 30 - 40 chickens/chooks (3 roosters) approx 10 budgies, approx 15 peachfaced lovebirds, 2 x pairs of Redrumped parrots and 1 netherland dwarf rabbit. I no longer keep peafowl or pheasants, although im contemplating getting peafowl or guinea fowl again....

Approximately 60 species, mostly reptiles (uncommon species with some endangered ones) but also some birds and exotic mammals. Most we have bred or we have pairs/groups with the intention to breed, just for own pleasure and interest.

Recently picked up four platies a little over a week ago, all female (two wagtails, a mickey mouse and a tuxedo). Kept platies before and they were great little fish. One is already pregnant and the others likely have stored sperm so I am expecting babies. I'm attempting to mix them with a female betta in a community tank (the betta is very placid), but I have a spare tank to move the betta to in case problems arise.

When the platy gets closer to giving birth I'll move her to a breeder box to stop the babies getting eaten.

I'd figured I'd post this here since some of the folks in here might enjoy it, here is one of my newer "pets" acquired this year.

Why use quotation marks? I can tell that you are not treating it like a dog, a cat, a budgie, or a canary, but you are keeping him to feel fulfilled, right?
