Yeah that's what I meant. Sorry, I thought that was a well known phrase.

As far as August 8th, none but the birds are out. They are, but hopefully were, in the process of training the Crested Guineafowl to leave the stalls, into the transfer yard, and into the Plains.

I'll be writing a review about this zoo shortly. I thought it was a great zoo and packed full of exhibits.

Is anyone in the area attending the “World Rhino Day: State of the Rhino Lecture and Keeper Panel”? It is being hosted by Dr. Roth on Monday the 22nd at 7pm at the Frisch Theater. I would love to go but cannot get to Cincinnati that day. I assume an update to the Sumatran rhino program will be discussed and there will be a Q&A session where attendees can ask questions. It would be great if someone on the forum could possibly attend and post what is discussed. It would be greatly appreciated.

Seconded. I'd love to see Sumatran rhinos one day with the species seeming to only disappear more rapidly but with only one left I wouldn't be surprised if they gave up on the program altogether.

I am of the opinion they really need to relocate their staff in situ with a coordinating presence from the international zoo and conservation community (f.i. IRKA, IRF, SRI, Cincinnati and Leipzig ..).

I know why the AZA is giving us the abandoned young but I'm still surprised they are considering the conditions of the exhibit.

The facilities aren't that bad so I can see Gladys and what not but with like three babies now I didn't think they'd have enough room.

I am speaking on behalf of the general Zoochat opinion of the exhibit. I have no problem with the exhibit other than its size and the zoo still manages to have/had the most thriving gorilla troop(s) in the country. With now 11 gorillas in 2 troops sharing one exhibit, it seems a bit much.
