Dale, the abandoned Takin, has been reunited back with his mother, Sally.

Excuse me, apparently Dale wasn't abandoned, he had to be separated and raised by hand to resolve his respiratory problems

I'm sorry! I just now saw this!! But to answer the question, Sabu returned to the zoo in late 2007, went on exhibit in August of 2008, and I do not believe he was fully introduced and put out with Jati again until early 2009.

    That said... Jungle Trails update!

The "super troop", as the zoo has coined it, of bonobos, consisting of the zoo's four adult females and four youngsters, will remain on exhibit together through Sunday November 15th. After that, new females Lana and Kesi will be introduced to Vernon, per a breeding recommendation, and the other females will be split amongst the zoo's two other males, Virgil and Vim.

Secondly, as Moebelle has already stated, the zoo has switched to red lighting in the aye-aye exhibit in an attempt to make them more visible to guests and more active in general (due to the fact that do not see the red spectrum as bright as the blue), and so far, this has seemed to be working! There has been increased mating behavior witnessed since the lighting change, and the zoo is hoping for baby aye-ayes in the near future (finally!!).

Kifaru and Seyia, the black rhinos, are possibly being put outside for the first time together. I have a good photo of them challenging each other.

The zoo has decided to close Wings of the World during Festival of Lights. Which is disappointing because it's one of the few open animal attractions during the winter time.

How long is the Zoo without Malayan Tigers since Malik and Hakim left? Are they still getting 1.1? Thanks.

2011 was the last year since they had separate Malayan Tigers. Who Dey and Taj have been at the zoo since 2012. There's only rumors of them getting a new female.

On an additional note, according to the 2015 SSP the all the girls, besides Lucy, will be leaving also. If the plans stay the same Ivy will go to Honolulu and both Selina and Quinn will be going to the Wilds. They're also planning on receiving two males, Kwasi and Masai, from Perth, Australia and have them breed with both Imara and Lucy.

Taj and Who Dey were renamed Malik and Hakim when they were transferred to the Sunset Zoo in Manhattan, Kansas. Today was their first day on exhibit after their quarantine period:

So is the zoo Malayan Tiger-less or did they receive the female from Busch Tam and the male from Dickerson like the SSP says? Or are they still waiting for them?

If they have arrived, they are still under quarantine. The zoo has not made any public statements about the shifting of the tigers.

In other news, Ali the aardvark is due any day now and is under 24-hour calf-watch.

Also, a new, much smaller, alligator snapping turtle has taken up residence in the alligator snapping turtle tank in Manatee Springs, which has remained empty since the death of the large resident male.
