I just took my acrylic nails off ready to get a fresh set done tomorrow morning and I literally can’t function without them!!!

Edit: I just did it again! Typed ‘functiob’ instead of ‘function’. Roll on tomorrow so I can have hands that work again!

My only complaint with mesh is that I find it tends to give photos a bit of a "foggy" look depending on the light, for lack of better words.

Also, I am still excited for opening of WotW as well!

The first of my new series, where I will put all the focus on the animals in certain attractions.

Another orphaned manatee has arrived at the zoo for rehabilitation. A one year old female who's mother died from a boat strike. This brings the zoo's manatee total to four - three other young males.

Nice, though I think that the zoo really needs to expand their manatee exhibit.

For four manatees that will never reach adulthood within their time at the zoo, I believe it's perfectly adequate. I thought it was adequate when they had three full grown females in the tank. That's a project idea that will most likely never happen for as long as the zoo can manage.

If the zoo had a grant, I would suggest them expand it, but the manatees do stay temporary, so I guess it doesn’t have to be that big.

If the zoo had any kind of grant it better be well spent on their 80 year-old attraction, their worst exhibits rather than one that hasn't seen 20 years yet, the zoo's third strongest exhibit;)

What do you think would be a good replacement for the Wildlife Canyon exhibit?

You'll have to find out;) If it were up to me, it would be a difficult decision. The area is too small to make anything of higher quality than Wildlife Canyon. Would be nice if they dedicated the entire area to the Przewalski's horses and takins.

Maybe something like a Central Asia exhibit for the Pallas' Cats, Goitered gazelle, Wild Boars, etc.? That could also connect to the *somewhat* nearby Cat Canyon exhibit for Snow Leopards. I honestly wish Lee Ehmke was the director of the Cincinnati Zoo. He'd know what to do for this exhibit area.

Fortunately after 75 years of its existence, it's been somewhat decided already that it will be something completely different from its usual theme.

The zoo has solid plans in place. They won’t hold up to the Sumatran rhinos the area once held, but nothing would. Waiting to see how it folds out will be more rewarding than pointless guessing at species barely kept in the country.
