    Hi guys

I usually just read on the forums because there is awesome information, but now I really need some help.

(Cross posting this from the European forums because it doesn't look like I can find large adult Niles in any of the English speaking countries over here :( )

My little boy LOVES Nile crocodiles! He always mentions they are his favourite so for his birthday we really want to take him to see them. I done some research first but wasn't able to find what we were looking for in the UK. Does America cater for crocodile fanatics who love Niles?

If anyone knows where the best place to go to find large adult Nile's is, I would be very grateful.

    Thanks a lot!

At Zootierliste we have two parks listed, so not that many places to choose:

You won't find any 16' ones in the U. S. that you can visit, sorry.

Hmm would you ever recommend asking the private owners if we can see theirs for some money or is that usually a no go. Sorry for knowing so little about these things, it is my little ones obsession not so much mine :)

I don't know how big they are but at Disney's Animal Kingdom they have an exhibit with tons of them in it. Prob around 20 of them when I visited a few years back. Only bad part is the only way to see them is on the safari ride. So u would only get to view them briefly but seeing so many together is pretty spectacular in its own right.

And if you wanted numbers, and to see them for a prolonged time, you'd be better off going to Crocodiles of the World in the UK after all! :p

Like I said, don't know how big they were but seemed huge. Prob at least 12' or larger for all of them but again that was years ago.

I'm not certain of an exact measurement, but the nile croc in Edge of Africa at Busch gardens Tampa is huge. Biggest I've seen anywhere. Bronx has a nile in Madagascar as well. According to some fellow Zoochatters on here, the people at Busch claim that their nile is 17-18 feet long. I've seen him, and he is indeed a monster croc.

It's head is the size of a 5 year old child. I'm pretty sure Newport Aquarium has a decent sized nile as well.

Of course if you go to Florida for Busch Gardens, you can also go to Saint Augustine Alligator Farm to see every species of crocodilian in the world.

Its about a 4/5 hour drive from Tampa to Saint Augustine. In between there are places where you can take an air boat ride through some of the rivers and see wild alligators. Gatorland in Orlando also has Nile Crocodiles too, but its not an AZA accredited zoo/park I believe.
