Gaur bull in his prime is probably one of the nature's masterpieces and an easy choice for me. I have seen Gaurs in Berlin, Paris and Sofia and really regret, that their future in Europe is not so bright. Hope to visit Zlin next year and to see the new guys in town.

We can only hope! I get the point of monorails, but I'd really like to see so many of those species up close.

The Bronx Zoo is good, but I'm not traveling over 500 miles just to see Gaur, Sambar, Barasingha, Eld's Deer and Hog Deer for only 30 seconds from a monorail. Sorry Animal Planet. "The Zoo" is great but not enough. We need to see the Gaur and the others at our own pace if we're going to be spending $23 per ticket. You can go to the AMNH on Central Park West and see most of the species in one hall (Asian Mammals) for a cheaper option.

I think my choice would have to be the Indian rhinoceros as I've only ever seen one once at a zoo in France whereas as impressive as they are I have seen gaur in zoos multiple times.

In all honesty, I love all animals as equals, but I chose Indian rhinoceros.

Take it for granted though, as gaur are more underrated than rhinos are.
