Hey y'all so on my previous thread I wanted to know all the mammals Omaha Zoo currently has, but then I decide to redo the list especially after I found out that this website called Global Species had a list of animals at the Omaha Zoo. But when I went through that list I notice some aniimals listed are currently not there, or I could not find any recent post about those animals listed. I also used other memebers reviews of the zoo as reference to figuring out what mammals are there. But then again the reviews did not cover all. So here is the list of mammals I am unsure if the zoo still has:

    1. Addax

    2. African Striped Weasel

    3. African wild dog

    4. Black bear

    5. Chinchilla

    6. Clouded Leopard

    7. Common porcupine

    8. Common Treeshrew

    9. Cotton-top tamarin

    10. Cougar

    11. Deer mouse

    12. Elegant Fat-tailed Mouse Opossum

    13. Elk

    14. European Rabbit

    15. Four-toed Hedgehog

    16. Gray Short-tailed Opossum

    17. Greater Hedgehog Tenrec

    18. Grevy's zebra

    19. Guar

    20. Huon Tree-kangaroo

    21. Kinkajou

    22. Jaguar

    23. Large Hairy Armadillo

    24. Leopard

    25. Lesser Hedgehog Tenrec

    26. Llama

    27. Muskrat

    28. Nile lechwe

    29. Northern river otter

    30. Polar Bear

    31. Potto

    32. Pronghorn

    33. Raccoon

    34. Red river hog

    35. Ringtail

    36. Scimitar-horned oryx

    37. Small-eared galago

    38. Southern Two-toed Sloth

    39. Spectacled Bear

    40. Sugar Glider

    41. Sun bear

    42. White-tailed deer

    43. Wild Boar

    44. Wolf

    45. Woodland dormouse

    46. Yellow-footed Rock-wallaby

    47. Zebu Cattle

So please let me know which ones on the list Omaha Zoo does not have anymore so I can cross them out. (also I am not counting their safari wildlife park as the Omaha Henry Doorly Zoo cause it is in a different area so count those ones too for the ones they do not have anymore.)

And so far on my list I have found 119 species. And someone said they have 170? Idk the exact number of the mammals. It's hard finding that info online. I look through countless sources to pinpoint what mammals but these mammals list on the global species website under omaha zoo I tried looking for but came up with no or little source or stuff from like 8 years ago... and you know how much things change in 8 years.... So yeah thanks for helping. :)

The Global Species lists are from 2011.

I know... But still these animals I have listed im still unsure about being still at the zoo.... I said I used that and many other sources to find animals Omaha zoo has...These ones I found on that chart but I don't know if the zoo still have them and if they do which ones are they? And which do they not have anymore the reason I ask this is cause I know it's outdated....

    Hello,
I do not believe the following are still kept at the OHDZ:
    • Addax
    • African wild dog
    • Black bear (moved to the Safari Park to make room for the new Sea Lion exhibit)
    • Clouded Leopard (I have not seen this species in the Lied Jungle for some time)
    • Cougar (I believe the cougar has or will be moving to the Safari Park)
    • Elk (at the Safari Park)
    • Grevy's zebra (changed species of zebra with new Africa exhibit)
    • Guar (no longer at the zoo, may still be at the Safari Park, but were always in a behind the scenes area there, so not certain of current status)
    • Jaguar
    • Leopard (only Amur Leopard are still on exhibit)
    • Nile lechwe
    • Polar Bear
    • Pronghorn (no longer at zoo or Safari Park, not sure why they are no longer kept at Safari Park)
    • Scimitar-horned oryx
    • Sun bear
    • White-tailed deer (still at the Safari Park)
    • Wolf (still at the Safari Park)
    • Zebu Cattle

    Hope that helps!
