Visited Whipsnade today (March 30th.) and pleased to report that the new entrance complex is now open. Looks good and is vast improvement on previous outdated and somewhat garish entrance. Incorporates ticket office, shop, cafe, toilets and meeting rooms. Well done to all at the zoo for getting it open before Easter.

Drove past the zoo yesterday and it makes a much better first impression then the old green gates before.

I know its not a new animal enclosure, but in terms of making it more attractive and modern the zoo seems to have done a very good job! Looks great.

Has the new cafe replaced the wild cafe situated in the middle of the zoo by the Tigers?? Or are there now 2 places to eat ? X

The new café is part of the new Visitor Centre at the entrance to the zoo, making it 3 in total (Visitor Centre Café, Wild Bite Café and Lookout Café).

The Outlook Cafe is seasonal, whereas the other two are opened all year round.

Visited Whipsnade on Saturday 23 May, think the new entrance looks good and makes visitors feel that there is something special inside. A big plus factor is the new butterfly house, well worth a visit and also look out for the baby lemurs
