It's okay really, I was just winding you up! :p Hopefully our paths will cross again. For the record we met at the fossa off show section at Ventura. :)

do you guys wear user-name-badges at those events so you can tell who everyone is? Or can you just pretend you're Pertinax?

It's not quite like that! :p More of a case of meeting someone and asking what their username is or being introduced to someone by their username and having to then ask what their actual name is! It would probably sound really odd to a member of the public who happened to over hear though. :D

I'm still just going to go around telling everyone I'm Pertinax.

In fact I might even get a T-shirt printed before I go to England, saying "Hi, I'm Pertinax".

Going by what Pertinax has said I don't think he's the intrepid jungle explorer he used to be so you're going to have to try harder. ;)

When I met Pertinax I said that I would tell ZooChatters that he can easily be recognised because he has very long legs and a bushy red beard ;)

And there was me thinking he was covered in long black hair and lived on an island with other similar looking men.;)
Surely his next door neighbours have red beards though? :p

well, maybe I shouldn't wear it at a Zoochatter Convention - but a Furry Convention that'd be another matter!

A pleasure to meet you too :)
Funnily enough, the previous day I met ro6ca66 at Cotswold WP: we were the last two visitors watching the clouded leopards and we exchanged a few words about the difficulties we were having as we tried to photograph them. But of course, neither of us twigged who the other one was - there a quite a few people wandering around zoos with nice cameras and purposeful expressions these days!
The penny only dropped when I saw some of the photos he had posted and we have had a conversation here, so we will be able to compare notes if we bump into each other again.
We may never know how many ZooChatters we have already met in a similar fashion, completely unaware of the identity of the person standing next to us :)

I've visited the National Zoo the same day as blospz and the San Diego Zoo the same day as Ding Lingwei (who hasn't posted in a while), and I've been curious if I ran into either of them.
