Why no platypus in zoos outside Australia?

    I think the placement of the platypus at the SDZ Safari Park was a bold yet smart choice. It’s the much less visited between both the zoo and safari park. They always attract a crowd ever visit prior to the lockdowns, rivaling the big cats and elephants at the park. They seem to thrive well and take advantage of their entire exhibit. Yes its a dark room but it fits them so well and I’m all for making their homes convenient for the species to be exhibited. I hope this opens a window with more unique animals from Australia to be exported while allowing some more imports of other species typically not seen in their zoos.

    Or go straight to Australia to see all the other ones and more. I wish you to do both!
