As featured in the Daily Tele - Get up close with endangered animals | The Daily Telegraph I've never heard of this guy. According to the website - Wild animal encounters - he has an elephant?!? I found it surprising enough that he has tigers and lions.
Bullen's animals. Ben works with a few Parks to use their animals for promos, commercials and the like. You'll often see him on the Kerri-Ann Kennally [sp?] Show on TV. He was also the consultant for, and sourced the crocs for, the Butterfly place at Mangere in Auckland. We have one of his ex-demo Salties here at DDZ.
So, does anyone know how many elephants Bullens have? I was under the impression that the three currently at Australia Zoo were all there were, but the cow on his website is another one again. Any others?
The cow on his Website is Siam from Bullens, who is held at Australia Zoo, Bullens (or their nominated parties) still use the elephants ( I dont know if all 3) for things other than Australia Zoo. I think the photos of Siam on WAE's website are from the latest tv show they did, Elephant Princess or something like that.
The cow on Ben's website is Siam who normally lives at Australia Zoo. When Brenton Bullen has a movie contract or when Ben gets an elephant job, Siam leaves the zoo to fulfill the contract. Ben doesn't actually own a zoo. Although animals sometimes "stay over" at his home they normally live at Bullen's Wallacia property.
I believe she can be away for some time but don't believe it to have any negative impact on her welfare. These elephants have been with Brenton Bullen for long time.
Siam is an easy-going girl who takes just about everything in her stride. When they were with us some years ago she slipped her chain late at night and wandered off. All the elephant department were out that night so I just called her back and, although she barely knew me, she responded straight away and strolled back to be re-tethered. Going away to do a film job, for however long it takes, doesn't faze her in the slightest. By the way - these elephants and Brenton Bullen are all about the same age.
Mate - the story hasn't ended yet so I've got no time to start writing! Happy New Year to you and yours.
Ben britton is quite well known around sydney, took part in the venomous snake shows at sydney wildlife world a while back showing off his gorgeous albino burmese python... lovely man with a LOT of experience.
I was just wondering if anyone knows if Siam is still doing movies and TV or if they are just going through other agents? She is no longer on the Wild Animal Encounters website. Brenton Bullen took a friend of mine for a private encounter the other day and all three are still there.
She'll go away whenever the need arises. WAE has never had sole rights to her services. Bullens have always used other agents as well or even booked animals direct.
