Do you mean once the wolves move to the new bear wood, or are wolves leaving the collection?

I think Dhole was a good suggestion, but as Wild Place seems to be attempting to be geographically based, how about hyenas ?

I'd also say dhole would be a pretty ideal replacement for the wolves (they were, I believe, part of the old NWCP plans for the Nepal Grasslands area). I would second pipaluk with hyaenas as well - I would specify striped hyaena, as they could go either in the current Cameroon savannah area or the Nepal Grasslands if that goes ahead.

I doubt it- they don't eat anything much bigger than rats in the wild afaik and those male Geladas have big canines...

Just spotted this news on the Wild Place website that they've had more success with their Dik Dik breeding. This is the forth calf in just over a year and the second born in just over a month. Great news for the species and an excellent sign that they've got a happy and healthy collection.

Even more Dik Dik breeding success at Wild Place.
New cute arrival at Wild Place Project - Wildplace
