Wildpark Eriksberg signed an agreement with Russia. Every year between 10 and 15 wisents will be send to Russia for re-introduction. At Eriksberg a group of 55 wisents live in a large natural enclosure.
Yesterday, 17 Wisents were traveled from Sweden to Russia via Lithuania. The animals are from; Eriksberg, Borås (1.1), Avesta and Kungsbyn. They will fist arrive to Oksky-reserve south of Moscow, about the half of the group will later start a ''founder-group'' in the wild in the Russian part of Caucasus, while the other animals will stay at the reserve.
