The Zoo have confirmed on Facebook the plans to hold Giraffe - they are however awaiting decisions from the studbook keeper. The house is open, so that the Orangutans may be viewed (I assume the housing is connected in some way) in the mean time.
The zoo have welcomed two Blesbok, and are awaiting the arrival of a third. Giraffe arrival date is still to be confirmed. (Info from their FB page).
So it seemsd that the giraffe paddock will be a mixed species paddock. The giraffes sharing with the blesbok I assume. Wonder if they'll get any more hoofstock,?
They have removed the owl cages and small monkey cages opposite the chimpanzee habitat so I presume that area will be developed next
I don't know where they came from, sorry. There are a few in the UK, but not a huge amount... Couldn't tell you off the top of my head I'm afraid.
Hi,ThomasnotTom do you know which Zoo or Safari Park the Giraffe's are arriving from? Are the Giraffe's bound for Wingham Wildlife Park Rothschild Giraffe's,if they are will they form a Breeding tower (hurd)? In my opinion Wingham is definitely the most rapidly growing Zoo or Safari Park in England possibly even Europe.

The giraffe have now arrived Linked - below is a video from Facebook showing the two new arrivals in their barn. New Neighbours
Going off the names it would appear they have arrived from Woburn where they were born back in 2017 I think.
I am! I was meant to be here and at Sandwich today... Yesterday would have ticked off Hemsley, Leeds Castle (because @devilfish wanted to see some bird ) and Howletts... Then this weekend would have included Chessington for ABWAK!
