From the other day I just spoken to a colleague who works at Woburn and it's regarding the Chapman Zebra and unfortunately the Chapman's were put to sleep a few years ago due to old age. That is why it's just Grevy's Zebras now

Hello everyone! I have a couple of questions to ask regarding the rhinos at Woburn. I was looking for where Miriam came from and it said a zoo in Holland. Does anyone by chance know which zoo it was and if she was born there or if she was wild caught? And also, I found a source saying that Kai came from Givskud Zoo in Denmark but was born in Edinburgh. So I’m asking if his parents are Floozie and Kruger, because it seems that a lot of other animals born at Edinburgh were from that pairing. Thanks :)

Kai was born on 20/10/00 at Edinburgh to Floozie x Kruger. He arrived from Givskud Zoo on 05/05/11. Miriam arrived from Beekse Burgen Safari Park on 20/04/10.

It might be worth following this link as this is the most up to date studbook released online for you: http://www.rhinoresourcecenter.com/pdf_files/152/1521247820.pdf

@Themonkeyguy1 there is a website of all of the Rhinos within the Zoo population. I have forgotten the name of the website. Do you know what the website is called?

Yes, this website is called ‘Rhinos of the World’. It has most rhinos on except some random facilities like Woburn and Marwell Zoo e.c.t :)

Another safari set up failing to breed. The social structure just is not right. Break up male and female bonds, esp. The south african imports.

Never posted in any Woburn threads before, but a new post on Facebook has announced the arrival of six new Bush dogs which have come from the former Sandwich Wildlife Park in Kent.

I think Woburn has kept this species before but the previous pair died out (?)

More information can be found here:
