    Airasca and Volvera are 20 minutes from Rivalta (where I live)...

    It is a disgrace and I do hope they will find the culprits among the hunting fraternity and give the commensurate sentences - and not probatory or deferred -.

    Are wolves expanding in Europe ? Wolves have been spotted several times in my area in the last months.

    Yes they are! The French wolves are related to the Italian / Appennine wolves. The population in France (200-300) is more significant than in Germany (120-150), yet not self-sustaining or safe.

    Thanks for that information. The wolves spotted recently were far from Italy though. Maybe they come from another population.

    What area are you referring to? Define please (out of interest - and for wolves' distribution patterns' sakes).

    But I can confirm with full certainty that wolves in France are from the Italian group. There is as yet no link up with Polish-German wolves … and the linear distance to these is the greater over the linear distance to Italian wolf populations.
