I visited the park in Dec and noticed Sayan looking rather plump compared to Vlad and Tschuna. Is there any chance she could be pregnant or do you think it's winter weight?

She’s meant to be the “non-breeding” tiger so that would be interesting!

When I visited on the 23rd there was no sign of her which I thought was unusual.

Ahhh right, thanks, I think she's fairly old too so I guess just putting on the pounds more than usual.

I know this has been known for a while, but YWP have today officially announced the birth of their second baby Roloway Monkey.

No name or gender revealed yet.

I was told, probably back in 2019, by someone who does know what they are talking about, that due to births elsewhere if either female was allowed to breed it would be more likely to be Sayan at that time. Not saying it's going to happen though! Or that she's not too old, I don't know how old she is or how old is too old.

    Thanks!

It would be so exciting if she does but she'd be due to drop any day now I think and she's still in with Vlad as far as I'm aware so very unlikely.

I was there around Christmas time and I did see that the small enclosure on the side was open and I saw a tiger in it for a brief time. I was quite far away and initially assumed it was Tschuna but now I’m not so sure because as I previously stated, there was no sign of Sayan in her usual area with Vladimir when I went.

I went yesterday and Sayan was in her usual position with Vlad looking fit and well.

Hi how many African Lions are still at Yorkshire Wildlife Park? I know that 13 were rescued from Romania.

Not sure on ages but I think the remaining lions are:
    Simba (m) and Maria (f)
    Crystal (f) and Carla (f)
    Ares (m) and Julie (f)
