You think a trip to Assam might be a great idea because it might well mean the chance to combine two of your favorite things: fresh tea (tea that hasn't been warehoused for months to years) and Rhinos.

...you are annoyed (actually more like shocked :p) when you hear someone refer to a Pangolin as a 'monkey thing'!

You buy a cheap copy of Whithnail and I purely because there is a scene filmed outside the old London Zoo wolf enclosure

You are riding the bus to school and see a leuistic pigeon and say "oh, look, a leuistic pigeon" and then like ten people stare at you.

You can identify penguins down to the species level.

Okay, full disclosure I can't really tell the three species of Rockhopper Penguin apart. But hasn't their being split into three species been disputed anyway?

You have a favorite species of penguin (a toss up between King and Chinstrap for me.)

We need to have fewer human babies and more non Human Great Ape babies.

When you are willing to brave subzero temperatures to look at a few animals and a lot of empty exhibits because it's a zoo you haven't been to before and somebody else is paying for it.

I can tell most of them apart easily except for the few that aren't found in zoos (and even those I'm not the worst at). The rockhoppers, be there one or be there four (Northern, Southern, Eastern, Western. Only Northern and Southern are commonly accepted, with Western a ssp. of north and Eastern a ssp. of south.) are nearly impossible to tell apart.

    On topic:
You can't have a favorite penguin because you love them all.

Whenever you see a pine cone you immediately think of a pangolin

When everyone in your grade at school has to write a speech and you write yours about why zoos are ethical and important

You glance at an ad for SeaWorld Orlando while changing the newspaper in a rabbit cage and immediately recognize the Killer Whale as Katina.

You see articles about 'monkeys' having been discovered to do something and immediately recognise the chimps as Chester's chimps! Sometimes even the mighty Boris himself.

You get mad when someone calls a Chimpanzee a monkey. A Chimp is an Ape, and a Great Ape at that!

Or when you get mad when someone says an animal is a rodent just because it's little and furry such as hyrax and shrews.

You get irritated on two levels when people share your apes onto their Monkey's (sic) Pinterest board :)
