Hmm... I think (in alphabetical order): Arnhem (Burgers Zoo) Basel Berlin Tierpark Berlin Zoo Chester (we're allowed to up-rate one for personal reasons, right? ) Plzen Prague Rotterdam (Blijdorp) Wuppertal Zurich One that I expect to break into this at a revisit is Leipzig. There are a lot of zoos that just miss out, particularly Emmen, Antwerp and Cologne, which I feel both really ought to be counted alongside the above. The San Diegos I visited a little too long ago to make a good comparison, so I haven't included them. Walsrode is also a near miss, mostly losing out because it's not a general collection (which feels harsh when it's such a good specialist one!).
the best 5: Burgers Zoo Diergaarde Blijdorp Pairi Daiza (Parc Paradisio) Tiergarten Schönnbrunn Vienna Tierpark Hellabrunn München runner-ups (6-10) Apenheul Gaiapark Kölner Zoo Zoo Berlin Zoo Leipzig for me it's impossible to say which zoo is the best because they are all different, so no real rankings only the zoos that i liked most.
My top ten: 1. Cotswold Wildlife Park 2. Chester Zoo 3. Jersey Zoo (Durrell) 4. Edinburgh Zoo 5. Marwell Zoo 6. West Midlands Safari Park 7. Monkey World 8. Bristol Zoo 9. Dudley (animal collection only) 10. Cotswold Falconry Centre

Blackduiker My Current Top 10 List: San Diego Disney's Animal Kingdom San Diego Wild Animal Park Seattle Woodland Park Zoo Saint Louis Zoo Phoenix Zoo Los Angeles Zoo The Living Desert Honolulu Zoo Santa Barbara Zoo
@Blackduiker My I ask why you put Disney above SDWAP? It seems like the general consensus on here is that SDWAP is much better.
Blackduiker Although several, like snowleopard and others, were disappointed in the limited observation from the safari tour, I felt the tour at DAK was the best immersion experience I had ever seen at any zoo. And I found such habitats as the Lowland Gorillas and Gerenuks, to name a few, amongst the best anywhere. Just a personal preference I suppose. And that, after several visits to SDWAP, with its close proximity in southern California to me. But on most anyone's list we could question the order of zoos couldn't we?
