The Jungle Book (2016) How to Train Your Dragon (just the first one though) The Lion King Boy Erased Dawn of the Planet of the Apes The Muppets (2011) Beauty and the Beast (1991) The VVitch Lady Bird Fantastic Mr Fox (Honorable mentions: Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Goodbye Christopher Robin, Tarzan, Boyhood, Stand by Me, Lilo and Stitch)
1. A Time to Kill (1996) 2. Jurassic Park (1993) 3. Night at the Museum (2006) 4. We bought a zoo (2011) 5. Avengers : Endgame (2019) 6. The Lion King (1994) 7. Grown-ups (2010) 8. Star Wars: Rogue One (2016) 9. Aladdin (1994) 10. Chicago (2002) I must say that I'm really not enjoying all the reboots, remakes and live-action movies coming out/come out recently. It is like being creative and actually doing good original movies scares Hollywood.
I count two, Endgame* and Grown-Ups. *Yes, I know the characters already existed in the comics but it is an original story, unlike most MCU films.
It's still a sequel, and still contains plot details from the comics and previous films so if a reboot or remake is classed as unoriginal, a sequel or prequel must be too.
Funnily enough, a video has just popped up on YouTube detailing the similarities and differences between the movie and the comics. What a coincidence!
I just spotted this entry and I approve wholeheartedly. My question is, what do you make of the TV series? I personally think it's a work of genius.
Then, sadly, you and I could never be friends.... The scene with the childhood memories being swept over the cliff in Inside Out is possibly the greatest piece of cinema, ever!
There must be a lot of really, really young people who have joined recently if most of these Top 10s are Post Millenium Releases. I'll play. This list will probably change tomorrow, but most of the fixtures will remain. So in no particular order... 1.) Casablanca 2.) The Killer 3.) Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom 4.) The Maltese Falcon 5.) The Imposters 6.) Grave of the Fireflies 7.) Strange Days 8.) The Lady From Shanghai 9.) Sahara (1943) 10.) Master & Commander
01 Die hard (All films) 02 Jurassic park (All films) 03 Star wars (all films) 04 Christine 05 Jaws 06 Independence day (Will Smith) 07 Friday thirteenth (first film in series) 08 Any carry on film 09 Love thy neighbour 10 Lord of the rings & Hobbit (All films)
Having joint-placement when you can't pick between films is one thing, but having a "top 10" which comprises a total of 62 films is pushing things a little too far in my opinion! Also, including Carry On Emmanuelle and Carry On Columbus in your list of greatest movies of all time makes me sincerely worried about you
If you think that's the worst on the list I'm presuming you're too young to know what Love Thy Neighbour was?
I know from reputation, as it were However given the fondness with which I regard some of the older, actually good Carry On films, I felt it more worthwhile to contest the suggestion that the two films I cited were their equal than to query what makes something as dodgy as Love Thy Neighbour one of the 62 10 greatest films of all time.
According to Wikipedia, “this dated, politically incorrect tale of bigotries and one-upmanship is sprinkled with ignorant comments and insults that are frequently more laughable than offensive when viewed today”. I’m off down to Blockbuster....
