    Hi.
I am trying find if it is possible to purchase zebra semen (either chilled or frozen) located within Australia.
    Any information will be appreciated.

Might come out blotchy instead of stripy if you mix it wrong :D

I doubt you'd be able to find the semen you want in Australia, but there's a few zebra breeders in the US, you could possibly import it?

Having said that, it might be hard to find out if it's pure zebra though.

You'd know if it was pure zebra from what the foal looked like...

Boof, the only true white horses are 'Overo Lethal White Syndrome' foals who are born with a terminal genetic colon problem, and die after a couple of days...
Chuckles aside, thanks for your comments.

I was hoping to get information, or leads toward Australian zebra breeding programs in our zoos, as stringent Australian bio-security conditions and restrictions (which I fully support and agree with) add tens of thousands of dollars to the price of importing live equids and or their live 'products'. This rules out all overseas breeders I have contacted.

Long time to wait from buying the semen until a baby zebra is born though isn't it?

You should start a thread and compile your favourite posts. It would make for entertaining reading. :D

It might upset more people than it entertains. The sense of humour of ageing antipodeans has only limited appeal.

We are all ageing! :D Go on, start a thread. Jbn will delete it if it is offensive, so no worries! Besides, merely copying and pasting someone's post can't be upsetting to anyone, least of all the person that actually typed the post... can it?
